Kingswood Residential

Y6 visited Kingswood, Dearne Valley from Wednesday 23rd May  to Friday 25th May.

Y6 visited Kingswood, Dearne Valley from Wednesday 23rd May  to Friday 25th May. Everyone had a wonderful time doing activities including archery, an obstacle course, indoor rock climbing, Laserquest and The Zipwire – we got to practise our team-working and resilience skills and overcome some of our fears.

On the first night, we had a campfire. Lots of us told jokes around the campfire and we sang songs and had toasted marshmallows. The disco on the second night was just the place for us to show off our best clothes and brilliant dance moves and some of us made new friends with the children from St Joseph’s in Cleethorpes, who shared the disco with us.

We enjoyed the food at Kingswood – and there was lots of it! We ate our meals in the canteen and had breakfast (at 7:20am!), lunch and dinner. There were different things on the menu each day and you could choose what you wanted. You could then have as much cereal, yoghurt and fruit (at breakfast) and salad and fruit (at lunch and dinner) as you wanted.

We had lots of fun with our friends in our dorms and even the teachers were funny when they woke us up really, really early in the morning! Miss Lawson’s booming wake-up call was just the thing to ease us gently out of sleep. It was Anoushay’s birthday whilst we were at Kingswood. Because of this, we were allowed to have a feast in our dorms. Our teachers were very relieved when - despite having had chocolate, sweets and biscuits for Anoushay’s birthday feast - we were all asleep by 11:00pm!

Our teachers were really proud of our behaviour and attitude on the trip and said that we were great ambassadors for Nottingham Academy.

Thank you, Mr Marshall, for organising a brilliant trip.
