Phase 2 Sunflower Competition

During the Summer holidays, some children entered a competition to see who could grow the tallest sunflower. It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Katherine and Edith are the winners! They received a wonderful trophy shaped as a sunflower and a sunflower growing kit. slide1 sunflower-winners

Phase 2 Halloween

October 2016

Phase 2 had a wonderful Halloween this year. They got the chance to dress up in scary costumes and take part in a Halloween catwalk. Four lucky children got prizes for their outfits. There was then a Halloween disco afterschool, where children got the chance to dance, play games, eat sweets and even see their teachers dancing too! It was great fun and we raised £280 towards our Christmas pantomime.

On Friday  14th October, Year 3 mixed football team had their first ever competition. The children went to Edwalton Primary School and played in a football tournament which involved 3 other schools  (Crossdale Drive Primary, Keyworth Primary and Edwalton Primary). Year 2 Trip to Colwick Woods

October 2016

Year 2 went on a trip to Colwick Woods to support our Literacy and Science curriculum. We used the outdoor environment to read ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’ by Julia Donaldson and followed a trail to find the characters in the story. Eventually we found the ‘Big Bad Mouse’ which was very exciting! Using musical instruments, we explored how we hear different sounds with a particular focus on how distance affects the volume of noise.
