A message from Mr Jones…

As we approach the end of the academic year we would like to thank all those parents that have supported us in a variety of ways throughout the course of this year, We hope you feel your child has been happy and cared for whilst attending school and we hope you are comfortable with how your child has continued to develop.

There have been many highlights and as you read this newsletter we hope you are able to identify some of the highlights your child has connected with. Undoubtedly a very recent highlight was witnessing a large number of our children performing with the Belvoir Big Band; this was a really positive community event that we would definitely like to repeat. Recently our year 6 pupils received their National Test results, our year 6 pupils performed strongly in significant combined measure for reading, writing and mathematics. Once again their performance is higher than the national average; also progress measures in all aspects will be very strong.

We would like to thank all those parents and children that completed our recent surveys. If we are a genuine community school it is imperative that we listen to your views and take your concerns seriously. Naturally we want to maintain those areas that are considered strong and we want to improve those areas you feel should be developed further. During the autumn term 2017 I would like to invite parents to an open meeting so that you are able to express what you consider to be areas for improvement.

Moving forward we would also like to invite parents to be part of a new parental body, ‘Friends of Nottingham Academy Primary’ the idea being to give parents a greater input into how we develop during our next phase. This idea will be discussed further during the Primary Principal Open Evenings:

Greenwood Road, Thursday 14th September 5pm
Sneinton Boulevard, Thursday 21st September 5pm

As we embark on our summer break we hope you are able to have a wonderful break and we look forward to seeing you on both sites of our Primary Academy on Thursday 7th September 2017.
