Harvest Food Bank Collection

Our Harvest Food Bank Collection.

This year the Rights Respecting Ambassadors have pledged to support our local foodbanks. Sadly, over 13 million people live below the poverty line in the UK and the need for foodbanks is increasing. Last year, well over a million emergency food packages were given out to adults and children in need including many families whose circumstances have been hugely impacted by Covid-19.

The foodbanks offer help to local people, who are often referred by specialist agencies such as social services, GP surgeries, schools, care centres and probation teams.

This week we will set up Harvest collection points near the reception areas, which will be open all week including during the parents' meetings.  We would be grateful if parents/carers or children could bring in any of the following, to help with our collection for this worthwhile cause.

In-date tinned and packaged food, including:

  • Tinned meat and fish
  • Tinned puddings
  • Tinned soup
  • Tinned fruit;
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Toiletries
  • Toilet rolls
  • Sanitary products
  • Pasta & pasta sauces
  • Rice
  • Shower gel
  • Snack bars
  • Tea bags
  • Baby food
  • Biscuits
  • Cereals
  • Dried pasta
  • Instant coffee
  • Long-life fruit juice
  • Long-life milk
  • Vegetarian options.

Unfortunately, the foodbank is not able to store fresh or chilled items. Small packets and tins are preferred, if possible please.
