Nottingham Primary Academy

Update on Incident 18.04.18

Following the incident outside the Academy on Wednesday 18th April, we would like to provide further information.

Following the incident outside the Academy yesterday we would like to provide further information on the steps that the Academy has taken to reassure and support the Academy community at this time.

  • Academy staff are in communication with the injured pupil’s family, he is believed to be in a stable condition and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
  • We are liaising closely with police, and supporting Academy staff and pupils in communication with local authorities to ensure all information is passed on and processed in the appropriate way.
  • Specialist counselling services have been provided for both pupils and staff affected and this will continue to be available as it is needed.
  • The Academy has robust security procedures in place to ensure the safety of our pupils, there will be an increased presence of Academy staff during break, lunchtime and the end of the day as pupils leave school.

Nottingham Academy remains a safe and supportive environment for all our pupils, it is disappointing that on rare occasions negative actions of a minority impacts on our pupils. As an Academy we remain vigilant in our zero tolerance of violence.  We continue to strive to uphold our Respect Values and ensure the best outcomes for our pupils, both pastorally and academically.

Should any members of the public have information relating to this incident they should contact Nottinghamshire Police by dialling 101.
