Nottingham Primary Academy

Rights Respecting – UNICEF

The Nottingham Academy Primary Phase are working towards becoming a UNICEF Rights Respecting School. UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation working for children and their rights and in 1989, governments worldwide promised all children the same rights by adopting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. These rights are based on what a child needs to survive, grow, participate and fulfil their potential and a rights respecting school teaches the children these principles. From this starting point they also learn their responsibility to respect others rights in all relationships in the community.

The Nottingham Academy believe strongly in the ethos and values of the UNICEF ‘Rights Respecting School’ award.  We are all working hard together towards gaining this status.

  • Summer 2 – The right to the best health care possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help you stay well.
