Nottingham Academy Pupils secure schloarship on prestigious summer school, Music Makers.
The Music Makers Summer School provides musical experiences for children aged 5-15 in the school holidays. The courses take place in the brand new £9 million building The Squire Performing Arts Centre, the space at Nottingham Girls’ High School. Featuring a 335 seat auditorium, professional rehearsal spaces, green room and hospitality areas.
Music makers has been running for 9 years, providing, mentorship, workshops and expert teaching for both boys and girls from 5 – 15 years, who may have no musical experience right up to those preparing for Music College.
Last year 2 Nottingham Academy pupils were able to secure schlorship for a place on this coveted course. Hazel and Damian-Jay who were then in year 3, showed a real passion for music and singing and after application they were awarded a schloarship worth £150 each. They both had an excellent week, trying new instruments, singing and learning even more about music. Nottingham Academy are very greatful to Music makers for providing such a wonderful opportunity and we look forward to supporting more children in their applications next year. Applications open in January please see the music makers website for more information.
