Onesies on for Autism Awareness

Nottingham Academy Primary pupils joined in with Autism Awareness Week, fundraising with a onesire day!

On Wednesday 28th March, Nottingham Academy primary pupils were invited to come to school in a onesie or wearing pink and purple in celebration of Autism Awareness Week. Across the year groups staff and pupils all joined in and everyone made a donation to the National Autistic Society.

Both sites also held a coffee morning with a cake sale. This was an opportunity to learn more about autism and about the range of specialist support services available to families at Nottingham Academy whilst enjoying coffee and cake.

Autism Awareness Week runs from 26th March to 2nd April each year it is a campain to encourage the public, schools, workplaces and individuls to take part in activities to raise money and awareness for The National Autistic Society.

Here you will find a useful website which helps to understand Autistic Spectrum Disorder in a variety of languages.

Our dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator Ms Coulson can be contacted via school reception for any additional information.
