Admissions to the Nottingham Academy
The Nottingham Academy provides education for children within the 3-19 age range. Pupils are admitted at the start of, and during, our main stage for primary.
Pupils on roll in the primary part of the Academy have an automatic place in the secondary part of the Academy.
Admission numbers
- 90 places - Nursery
- 60 full time places – Reception - Year 6
To apply for a place at the Nottingham Academy
For admission to our nursery provision, parents should contact the Primary Reception on 0115 748 3385 to apply for a place.
For admission to primary reception, in the year preceding admission, parents should apply using Nottingham City Council’s Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme.
For admission in September 2025, these forms should be returned by 15 January 2025 for primary reception. Please click on the link below to make an application:
The Nottingham Academy will co-ordinate admissions for in-year applications and for applications for year groups other than the normal point of entry. For entry into years other than Reception, please contact the Academy reception or e-mail your completed form to adminp@nottinghamacademy.org

Appeals
If a parent/carer's application for a place at the Academy is unsuccessful, they have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel.
Parents should submit their appeal, in writing and giving their reasons for appeal, direct to the Academy.
Please be aware that the regulations under Section I of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 limit the size of an infant class (a class in which the majority of children will reach the age of 5, 6 or 7 during the school year) to 30 pupils per class teacher. Admissions over this limit are only permitted in very limited circumstances.
